I am so pleased to join the Board of Directors of Caledon Community Services!

We have been supporters of CCS since our family moved to Caledon, 20 years ago. So, I know that this is a wonderful non-profit, dedicated to improving the quality of life of Caledon residents of every age; but, as a new board member, I have been taken by the depth and scope of CCS programs - from a food bank to newcomer services to specialized transportation for seniors and people with disabilities. The incredible staff have really motivated me to do whatever I can to help.

In my ‘day job’, I am a lawyer. As a Certified Specialist in Labour Law, I primarily represent employers in the full range of labour and employment-related litigation. I am also the co-author of ‘Just Cause: The Law of Summary Dismissal in Canada’, which is frequently cited in decisions of our courts, across the country.

Within Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, the national law firm in which I am a partner, I was the National Leader of BLG’s Labour and Employment Group from 2011-2016, and before that was the Toronto Leader from 2008-2011.

We have always been active in the Caledon community, such as in helping to establish the Lincoln Alexander Legacy Fund (at the Ontario Heritage Trust) which provided support for the Cheltenham Badlands, with events in support of Palgrave Public School when our daughters attended, and as our riding’s representative to the Ontario Citizen’s Assembly on Electoral Reform. Now, I am excited to put my time and energy towards CCS.
