Everything can be a challenge in a new country from learning the language to finding affordable housing and employment commensurate with skills and experience, to establishing a new network of social contacts/supports, to identifying food alternatives if the food you are used to is not available in the area you settled in Canada. Being an immigrant and having gone through it all myself, I am fortunate to have an opportunity, through Caledon Community Services, to pay it forward and make a positive change in the lives of other newcomers.
On a professional level, I am a certified Project Management Professional with extensive experience leading cross-functional teams on digital and classic projects in Language Assessment & Training, Settlement, and Employment Services aimed at helping newcomers succeed in Canada. Also, I am an Ontario Certified English Language Instructor.
I am humbled and thrilled to be part of the Newcomer Programs Team specifically and CCS Team at large.
