As a Military BRAT (born, raised and transferred somewhere) I was born in and also spent my high school years in Germany and travelling through Europe. In between, I lived in four different provinces. No matter where our family lived there was always the inherent feeling of community that we BRATs shared and it was always an adventure when we crossed paths again with old friends or began new friendships in different locales. This sense of community and belonging has never been lost on me and is one of the reasons I enjoy what I do each day and why I appreciate the vision of Caledon Community Services.
I believe we build connections and cultivate a compassionate community when we choose to demonstrate empathy, perseverance and humanity. Our stores not only raise much-needed funds to help support the valuable programming of CCS, but they also serve as a community hub where people socialize and come to see what’s new in their neighbourhood.
I am a believer in karma and the unexplained. I have had many experiences involving six degrees of separation and enjoy exploring the concept and discussing it with anyone who is willing. I’m an avid reader, backburner inventor and part-time practical joke planner. Spending time with my musical husband and children and planning family gatherings are what I enjoy most.
